Two well drawn and hand coloured playing cards transformed into quite stunning picture.
Now – they are framed with the manuscript notation “Received 9th Nov 1797 at Harewood”
IF this is correct this would predate the first German printed Transformation cards of 1801/
When you thing about it logicallt there were presumably home crafted transformation playing cards that sparked the idea for printed one.
So, you will have make up your own mind but either way they are early and they are attractive.
