c1830 Twenty Four Heraldic laminated Paper-Mache Gaming Counters depicting the coats of arms of noble families.
This is a unique group of 24 Georgian Gaming Counters the Obverses showing the Coronets of Dukes, Marquesses, Earls, Viscounts and Barrons over their respective Heraldic Shields.
The Reverses showing their family name and motto.
Each is decorated, in Black & White, by hand and uniformity measure 39mm diameter and are in extra fine condition.
Counters date to c. 1830 and were sold by heraldry dealer individually this being the largest grouping.
Only one set was produced for one of the featured families [ the precise family is not known ].
The names individual attributed to each counter is through our research on Wikipedia and may not be 100% accurate due to some complexities in some families and the precise date of the counters could be one or two years out.
